Zelle Estate is set in a beautiful part of the province of Gelderland, the Achterhoek. There is ample opportunity to relax, both on and around the estate.

Zelle Estate and its surroundings are ideally suited for making long hiking, cycling and horse-riding trips. The estate forms part of the characteristic hedgerow landscape of the Achterhoek region, featuring narrow tree-bordered fields and pastures, alternated with woodlands and cut across by winding streams with farms, castles and villages scattered in-between. Hiking routes "the Pieter Path" and "Varssel Route" and bicycle routes "the Eight Castles route of Vorden" and "the County Route" run directly across the estate. A beautiful hiking trip is laid out across the estate especially for the guests.

Horse lovers can bring their own horse and make splendid trips in the surrounding area. Grazing facilities are available (see pricelist).

The old towns in the surrounding area are certainly worth visiting, such as the old Hanseatic towns on the IJssel river, like Deventer, Zutphen and Doesburg. Bredevoort, Lochem, Borculo and the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst, as well as nearby Munster in Germany are also highly recommended. Various castles are open to the public, such as Bergh Residence in 's Heerenberg, Verwolde Residence in Laren and Schloss Anholt in Germany.

Throughout the region you can find public gardens, for instance the gardens of "de Wiersse" in Vorden, Bingerden Residence in Angerlo and "'t Goed Aldenhaeve" in Zelhem.
The Achterhoek has a lot to offer in terms of culinary delight. Particularly well-known is the "Eating game in the Achterhoek" autumnal event, which takes place in many of the excellent restaurants in the Achterhoek.

Golf Club 't Zelle is located on the estate. Apart from an 18-hole course, there is a 9-hole par-3 course, a putting and a pitching green and a spacious driving range. It offers ample opportunities for both novice and advanced golfers. Training lessons, clinics and tee-off times can all be arranged for you.
